Metrology is the science of measuring.
Measuring is about comparing and using numbers to compare. 5 kilos are more than 2.
But you can’t compare apples and pears.
Therefore measuring units have been invented and defined internationally through a network of organisations that emerged from the scientific establishment as such things are done in patriarchical times.
The trouble is that all thinking could change dramatically when thoughts were not only expressed on paper, but also on screen!
Thank god, I was among the first women to learn about computing and programming. Thank god I could learn to keep up with computing as a ‘tool for thinking’.
For thinking is NOT only what men have deemed worthy and valuable, I can assure you!
